It's Thursday June 28 2012

  Today we had the Moving guy here to do inventory of our stuff.....looks like we may have 2 pack days and maybe 2 load days, our stuff is going to be going into moving crates and has to be packed tight.....but will find out closer to the day.
  Picked up DS's report card, and he passed all his classes so he's moving on to Grade 10.
  We will be busy, bringing up all our crawl space boxes, before the movers come, we have to take it all into the garage.
  We are really trying to eat up our food in the freezer, so that I can defrost before we have to move it, lots of other stuff to do around here as well....my head hurts just thinking about it all.
  Today, I eat two raspberries off our bushes.....I put the net up, and it seems to be keeping the birds away..... =)  It only took 3 years to have Raspberries and now we have to leave them......the life of the traveling Military gardener.....  Not sure I'm going to plant them in Alaska, don't want to attract the bears even more.....but we will see....wont be long now.....

well have to take some stuff to the dump, recycling and bottle depot......have a great day  =)

June 27 2012 ~ In Laws head home

Today our company left for home, they are going to be up Island for a day then heading to Vancouver to spend time with more family and tour around site seeing....we wish we lived closer to be able to visit more.

Today I have to cut the grass, and do some more inventory for our move up North, wont be long now.   We are all getting excited and nervous all at the same time.  Tomorrow is DD last day of Grade 4, and DS has to go and pick up his report card.

DS got a package in the mail, and it was from Cadets, with his certificates for his red star, and his promoted to Master Bombardier....we are so proud, we will miss going to Cadets when we move to Alaska.

June 26 2012 ~ family visiting from Ont

Hi everyone, we have been busy the last couple of days, with DH's parents from Courtenay and DH's Brother his wife and grand daughter from Ont visiting.  Sunday we spend the late afternoon, with our visitors...it's great to see everyone together
  Monday we went to Butchart Gardens, it was so nice, I took any pictures.....DH's brother is into taking photos like I am....wish we lived closer we could snap the day away.
  Today they are heading to the BC Royal Museum, I have to work, and DH is going to make Beef Wellington again, and Creme bulee...so his parents and DH stayed home to get things ready.  Wish I didn't have to work but I do.
  Well I'm off to get ready for work, take care

TGIF ~ June 22 2012

  Another day off before my working weekend, DH's Brother, his wife and Grand Daughter land in Comox today, and will be here for a visit sometime Sunday.  Monday we are hoping to hit Butchart Gardens, I can't wait to take some pictures....fun fun fun.....hopefully the sun shows up.
  Today DS and I are watching TV and I see a cheeky Robin, hanging out by my Strawberry plants I have in planter pots.....he was checking out my nice ripe strawberries....only a few but nice red and juicy.  He goes to get one, and guess what.....Bird Netting to the rescue......I had put it around my Raspberries and Strawberries a few days before.......High 5 for me....sorry Bird you usually only have a little taste anyways.......I was happy ....wish I had filmed it.....maybe he will be back for an action shot.
  Not doing to much today, we are having BBQ Maui Ribs for dinner, have to get my fill in before moving, because I didn't see any Maui Ribs at any meat section in Anchorage....will find out soon if they have them.  Wont be long now......Count Down has started 30 Days, until we are on the road.

Day Off ~ sunny day

Hi all, my second day Off and it's a sunny day in my neck of the woods.....I spent the morning putting netting around my Raspberries and the few Strawberry plants I have, hoping to get a few ripe berries before the darn birds do.  This is our first crop from our Raspberries, and hopefully they ripen before we move....come on sun..... Ripen those Berries..... =)

Today I made some fresh blueberry tarts, my first time making them, they look pretty good, will post a picture soon.  I spent the morning junking out somethings from our freezers, seeing how tomorrow is garbage day.  Starting to eat things that are open to use them up before we move....Cans and food not opened I hope they will move....it's different this move, I think our stuff is getting barged up by sea.....so we will wait and see.  I'm going to start un packing the boxes I packed to de clutter our house, we have to write an inventory of everything we own, for the US boarder.

Our house is SOLD.....one more thing to check off our list.....Doing the Happy Dance!! 

Today DS turned in his Cadet uniform, he received his Red Star, I'm going to make him a Shadow box with his cadet badges etc in them...one of these days.

We are gearing up for DH's brother, wife and grand daughters visit, this week.....they are from Ont, so hopefully they bring Summer with them....it sure hasn't arrived here yet....well it felt warmer today....

we had a busy weekend

We had a busy weekend, running from the rain.....Saturday we spent the day at DS's Hockey wind up, had a wonderful time, thanks to the Purdy's for having us all over....to bad it rained....of course when we decided to leave, the sun started to shine....go figure....Mother's nature apparently didn't get the memo.

Sunday was Father's Day, I made French toast and bacon, of course bacon....I have started making bacon in the oven....with brown sugar and pepper on it.....so yummy.... =) and pretty easy to clean up after.  I had to work the whole day so DH hung out with the kids.  We ended up having Steak and poutine, corn, etc for dinner.

On Sunday at 10 pm, got a phone call and it was my brother, saying that Jaime had the baby ..... at 9pm, it's a girl, 7lbs 5oz .....  she's waiting on a name ...... miss living away from family for all these reasons.  Hopefully we will get to see some pictures soon.....I will post one when I get one.

Can't believe another week has gone by, DH's parents left today, after another visit, we are just waiting for our Offer on the house to clear, will know June 19th for sure.....DS has finished school for another year, just has a couple of exams to write.  DD finishes at the end of the month, then we will have DS heading to Grade 10....scary and DD heading to Grade 5..... the time seems to fly.  We will be moving mid July,  it's going to be here before we know it.

This weekend we are attending DS's Hockey party, so fingers crossed for sun on Saturday.  I have had the request to make Noodle Salad, so will pick up the ingredients tonight after work.  It's been a year or two since I have had it .... hopefully I have the recipe ..... I do, don't worry Maureen.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's reading our blog, I have to work, so the kids will be tending to DH on Sunday.

Well I'm off to work, should do something around here before I have to go, take care

Another Manic Monday

Monday again, boy life is flashing by, we got home late Saturday night in the dark.....one week of light until way past my bed time, was different, people walking their dog at 11:30pm.
So back to routine, DH to work, kids up, breakfast, lunches made, mom's taxi in full mode, now to clean a bit and then get ready for work.
I took some pictures of my garden yesterday, it's looking so beautiful, so sad again to leave another garden, looking forward to starting a new one in Chugiak, Alaska..... I don't think I'm going to plant berries, I think we get enough unwanted visitors, and Black Bears love berries.  I would love to get photos of Bears in my berries, but I think I will pass.
Our home inspection is on Wed for fingers crossed, all will go well and our house will be SOLD....

June 9th 2012 ~ leaving Alaska for a bit...be back soon

So first off want to say Happy birthday to my Nan!!  Miss seeing her, living away from family is a down side of growing up.... =)

So we worked on selling our house last night and this AM, and it's SOLD pending home inspection...etc... so we are pretty happy about that, one thing to check off our list of To Do's before we move.  And I'm happy we don't have to have our house looking like a show home every day.

Looking forward to our big move mid July for Anchorage.....can't wait....Well off to the Market to check it out before we leave for home after lunch...take care and have a great weekend all.... =)

TGIF ~ Friday ~ June 1st 2012

So it's June already, can't believe it, heading North on Sunday for a week, super excited, to check things out in our New Adventure town.  Don't worry I will take lots of pictures to post.... =)

Today at 2pm we are having our 2nd showing, so I have been busy getting the house ready....fingers crossed....this will be the family for our house.....=)  It's raining so, doesn't help show off our place, but it's warm and shinny clean inside.... =) wish I could have a clean house like this always....it's alot of work, but maybe the habit will stick.... hopefully....I guess the key is to get rid of crap.....stay tuned for that adventure as well... =)

Oh ya I made Strawberry Freezer Jam last night, (was my 1st time making it) had toast and jam for breakie and it tasted pretty good, thank you to the customer that said he and his wife were heading home to make Jam...and thank you to Thrifty's for having strawberries on for $1.....it's Dollar Days at Thrifty Foods.
