Can’t believe it’s almost Christmas....as I sit at the ice rink waiting for my daughters hockey game to start, I thought I would share a little about our busy life....lol well it seems busy, I remember my Grandma, always saying the older you get the faster time will go by and with my hubby trying 50 next week, I can’t not believe that is happening. I thought my parents were old, when they were 40 and I was in my late teens, and now...I don’t feel any older, just getting these pesky white hairs popping out among my blond hairs. Seems I’m have some hearing loss or people are not speaking load enough, either way I’m feeling old....just a little.
My son turned 20 yrs old, I can’t believe that happened either....☹️ He’s going to be soon moving on with his life, which I know we have prepared him for, it’s scary how that has happened. I will keep you up dated....that’s what moms do!!!
Well let’s see, my mom and dad and their dog came for a visit, back in November, so we got to do Christmas shopping and send it with them back to the island, loved that. It was great to have them visit. Nice to be closer to family again.
So I’m getting closer to finishing shopping but as the kids get older it’s not as easy to shop for them.
I have been doing a lot of crocheting here in Cold Lake, I think it’s my favorite hobby of all time, I dabble in the rest but Crochet is my go to craft and I’m good at it.....😎
I have been making some crocheted blankets but have come to the conclusion that I do not like sewing in ends, I’m getting used to it but it’s not on my list of to dos.

Nov 1 2017-Snowfall
We had a few trick or treaters last night, not sure of the numbers as my DD and I had to leave to go to her hockey practice.
We are getting settled in to our new town, seems like we are always on the go, so that is making time fly by.
Been crocheting, and trying to do some other crafts but have been sick for about two weeks, I went to the doctor and she gave me antibiotics, but still have a cough, but I'm definitely on the mend. I'm for sure getting the flu shot when I'm better.....I do not like being sick.
Well just wanted to check in, have a great day, I'm heading for some tea and cookies....=)

Sept 28 2017-Back in Canada
Sept 28 2017, I can't believe it's almost the end of Sept, we are all moved in to our new place, not all unpacked but moved in....=)
Have to get used to not having the mountains to look at but love being able to walk to the lake, I have been trying to do a walk when I can. It's beautiful feels like the ocean, the lake it so big. Soon the cold will set in, I heard the weatherman say we may be getting flurries next week. So with the last few days being in the 20's, it's time to get out and enjoy.
Last night the Northern Lights put on a great show,

Hello from Alaska!! This might be the last time posting from Alaska, the Pre Pack starts Monday, and we will be hitting the road on the 20th for Canada, then to our new Adventure in Cold Lake, Alberta.
Sitting here looking out my window at the green green long grass, with the trees and Bear Mountain with might be one of the last times I get to look out at the view, it's been an amazing adventure our posting to Alaska (JBER Anchorage) meeting so many amazing people and experiencing life in the North. We will not be leaving the cold winters, and I'm looking forward to seeing more Northern Lights, I just hope it's not to cold to get out and to pictures. I will miss just being able to go out my back down to the lake, or on the lake in the winter to take pictures ..... I will never for get, being able to have this adventure.
Going to miss all my hiking friends, you know who you are.....from starting our as a new comer, to leading the new girls to all the amazing hikes around our area. Going to miss the views, still hate hiking up the mountains, but once your at the top, it's all forgotten and the views are just breath taking.
I have so many hiking pictures, I tried to pick a few of my favorites....but there are way way to many to choose from.....It would take me forever to pick a few....

Hope your all having a great weekend, it's super warm and sunny today, I think finally summer has arrived....only a few months late....but I have heard this is a normal summer.....not since 2012...any ways enough talk about our crappy summer....
Exciting news.....we got our posting message on July 14th, now the fun begins....=) We will be heading back to Canada and moving to Cold Lake, Alberta.
So we are trying to fit in some hikes and seeing some sights before leaving.
Today we went on one of my favorite hikes...Portage Glacier....

July 3 2017 - Hello from Alaska!!
Hello from Alaska, it's Monday here on the holiday. We celebrated Canada's 150th Birthday on Saturday with our Canadian family in Alaska. We had another amazing time, and even the sun managed to show up for the party.
We still haven't received our posting message, but are hoping it will be on it's way soon. We are screening for Cold Lake, Alberta, so we will find out soon enough, all the details.
The weather here this summer has been crappy, the wettest that we have seen, and for some reason, it's brought out the bears, black and brown....they are every where, we even have one here at the lake.
he/she has been in the neighbors garbage and then last night took the other neighbors bear proof garbage can for a ride....not sure if there was anything taken but it's a bit scary.
A few girls and I went on a camping trip here in town, and when we got into our campers (trailers) my friend looked out and saw a bear....we were so glad to be not in a tent...there was a few people in tents.....eeeeek!!!
of course my camera and my friends was out in the cars, so we only had our cell phones....not the best pictures but after a bit of editing they are way better...it will be a camp trip to remember.
I have slowing getting rid of things we don't want to move, took 2 loads to the Church, they have a sale there every month and I always get good deals, so I thought I would pass along so stuff....where we live no one comes out to garage sales so it's not worth having one, and all the sales goes to charity.
Haven't' been hiking at all, the rain, and bears are keeping me at home. But I have been crocheting alot, which I don't do that much usually in the summer, because we are outside taking in the scenes etc....
Well I just make some dinner buns to go with our pulled pork for dinner, my flour is running out so will have to buy a smaller bag as we will be moving.

June 16 2017-The official flower of the military child is the Dandelion.

It's a beautiful warm day here today 18c, which is just right...lol but 20 will be better, hope it's going to warm up a bit more soon. The lead up to summer this year hasn't been all that great. And this year, there has been so many bear sightings, I don't really want to hike. I have seen and hiked alot here since 2012 and well miss all this when heading back to Canada....but we can always come back for a visit...=)
Today I started going throw, so of the stuff in the garage, I keep taking stuff in there, we don't need any more, but it's becoming a big mess in there. I will be getting this organized soon. I have been doing some cleaning that I can do now, like windowsills etc.....moving sucks.....that is all I have to say about that.
Did some baking today, made bite size brownies, and double choc biscotti, chocolate anything is always a bonus in this house.
Well that's about it for today, just wanted to leave a little update on the posting.....stay tuned!!

June 13 2017
Well it's June 13 2017, and we still don't have a posting message, we have to get some screening stuff done, in the next couple weeks, then we will know.
We are going to miss Alaska and can't believe we have spend 5 yrs here, our time is flying by.
When we moved here DS was in grade 10 and DD was in grade 5, we are leaving with our DS Graduated and DD heading to grade 10. Crazy where the time has gone.
Schools out for the summer so we are enjoying the sleep in mornings, the weather really hasn't been that nice, not like other years. There are a lot of bear and moose sighting this spring. I saw a black bear just on the road from our house the other day, guess that's why the Mama Moose didn't come back this way, the neighbor did see a Mama moose and baby a few weeks ago...hope they are fine.
I have been trying to get stuff I don't wont to move ready for a garage sale, I was planning to do it this weekend, still might with the weather warming up.

June 1 2017-still no posting message
June 1st and still no posting message, we are on the long boat to posting....hopefully it will happen real soon.
We have been enjoying all Alaska has to offer, DD had her last day of school, May 24th, then on May 25th we went camping, for the Memorial Day weekend down to Seward. We went with alot of Canadians posted here with us. We camped out with our friend and her son, as her husband had to work. We had a few days of sun, they the wet rain developed...we made the best of it but after a whole day of rain, we packed up in the rain, and went home a day early.

So I seem to be only posting once a month....we are still waiting to hear where we are posted to, it's another Posting season for us, looking back on my blog I saw that we didn't receive our Posting Message to Alaska until May 4th, so we will see when we get it this time. Happy St Patrick's Day!! I can't believe it's the 17th of March already, time is just sailing by. Today we went skating with the Canadian's, it was a beautiful but cool day. Here's a couple of pictures
We are on Spring break, last week we went to Portage Lake to walk to the Glacier, it was another amazing adventure in Alaska....=)

OMG, I can't believe it's March 1st already. I just witnessed another amazing Northern Lights show...I could see pink with my eyes....which is rare....don't think I have see that much pink in some time.....so happy I went back to look after coming in from a hunt that I thought was going to be a dud adventure......here's the first pictures at about 9:30 ish pm

I have been doing alot of crocheting, and have added my latest finishes on my Loveland Designs facebook page if you would like to check them out. I have a sore back I think I have been crocheting to much....=(
We have a lot of snow right now, snow totals I think for the winter is at 72 inches....last year we had 25 inches...so we are getting a lot of the white stuff for our last year here.
