DH was scheduled to come in at 12:37am, the flight was delayed and he got in at 1:00am, it was so hard to stay up...did lots of surfing the internet, I watched 1/2 a movie...but I made it.  Loved having my phone, so that DH could text me from the plane....I know where he was.  I got a parking spot really close to the door, couldn't leave the truck because it was an active loading zone.  So many people there...seemed weird because it was so late.  It was great seeing DH....I was a chatty cathy on the way home....he was tied because he was 3 hours ahead.  We got home at 2:30am, not sure what time I actually got to sleep, but I know for sure the 5:30am alarm as way to early.  I actually went back to sleep and DS woke me up....thank goodness he had gotten up or it would have been a sleep in day....but that's tomorrow.  Making Eggs Benny for breakfast....one of my favorite breakies.  Today DH and I spend the day catching up on everything, and doing a couple of things I couldn't do on my Honey Do List.  I think everyone was happy to see their Dad....Taz in clued.... =)  I dont' want him to go back, it's going to be a fast weekend.

Today in the mail I got my work visa...so Tuesday I'm heading for my social...=) and then look for something to keep me busy.... =)

We are celebrating DD's 10th birthday tomorrow, with her dad, so Veronica and I worked on making her frog cake tonight...it looks pretty good if I don't say so myself....here's a picture of us working on it...

I wanted to get a picture of her with it just in case it doesn't look like this in the morning....=) or later in the day.  I have it in the frigs, so we will see....I used real butter for the icing....fingers crossed it works out.  Well off to bed ...have a good sleep all   =)

Thursday continues...Aug 30 2012

Today I drove DD to the bus stop, because I had to go to the base to pick us up our discount tickets for the State Fair.  Every time I say that I think of Charlotte Web..... =)  So I heading down to town (Anchorage)  it's only 9:00am and the Arctic Oasis doesn't open until 10:00am..so I have to go to Michaels so I make what I thought was the turn to get there and it's wrong, so I punch the address into the GPS and off I go...I miss the exit because it's on the left and to many cars to get over...but that's okay I have the GPS....it's only at the next overpass exit any ways...but still.  So I'm making my way around and I find....http://www.joann.com/  
I was like a kid in a candy store...oh look at that ohhh look at that....it maybe dangerous... =)
OMG...like Michaels, something better and some better at Michaels....so I found a great deal and thanks to the guys at the store...I may have bought the wrong ones.....so get this.....curtain rods....I got 4 of them with pineapple ends ( I forget what they are called) for $8.97....they are like $70 each....I'm sure they are older, but they work great in my living room. sliding glass door, the computer room and the dinning room...I now have to look for a sale on curtains....=)  

brb have to go and get DD at the bus...3:39pm 

Okay I'm back 4:11pm pouring rain...Jen a mom gave us a ride home....rain rain go away...we want to do stuff outside this weekend.

I forgot I stopped at Walmart as well and the (it's not called) Liquor store, but I stopped in there...got some booze for a couple drinks I'm going to try...and beer...I asked for help because things are all different here...and I told the lady and guy I was from Canada, and the guy was like...you guys should really bring back the Trailer Park boys....he loved that show.... to funny, like I have something to do with it... =)

Can't believe there's only 2 day left in Aug 2012, it's been a busy busy month, but we are settling in, the sun is out today, and I'm hoping that both decks don't take to long to dry.   DH comes home tomorrow night 12:37....well it's am on Friday, so we are looking forward to a fun family weekend, lets hope the weather holds off.....I think isn't going to be nice on Sunday, we are planning on going to the Alaska State Fair.  Not sure what else we are doing.  We are going to celebrate DD's 10th birthday with her dad.

So it's almost the end of August can't believe it. DH is coming home on Thursday for the weekend. Today I cleaned the house, and tomorrow I'm going to vacuum. It's a beautiful day sunny and bright skies.
Today for dinner I made meatball pineapple surprise..... out of Pythian sister cookbook, it was a recipe from Kelly's grandma Lil Murdock.
So tonight I got stain for the deck....and I just finished painting it....looks way better then it did.....=)
Now to see how long it takes to dry...sunny day tomorrow please mother nature....=)

Aug 27th 2012 ~ rainy Monday

So it's been raining all night, filled like BC weather right now.  Rain Rain go away....here on the house there is no gutters....so it sounds worse then it is I'm sure.
DS's up for school, lunches made, it's dark today.....even when I went to bed last night it was really dark, hard to find my way around....before you could see light some what....maybe it was because it was raining, any how darkness is upon us.......Winter is coming....

Have to get groceries today, the refrigerator is getting bare, want to go on a walk/run as well, may have to wear my rain jacket.

I will add more later in the day....maybe some thing exciting will happen today.... =)

So it's 11:21am and sunny now ....DS almost missed the bus today...the bus was just turning and pulling away...so he ran....the nice bus driver stopped...=) So now DS knows why it's better to be early then late, when taking the bus.
I was busy today making Our Alaska Bucket List

Last night I made some Cinnamon Buns,  I think they are the best I have made...they tasted really good.  Well the bread machine made the dough but I did the rest...and note to self....get butter....margarine isn't the same.

Well have to have a shower and head to get some groceries...the cupboards are bare....and they really are it's not the kids saying it.....=)
DH will be home late Thursday night....12:37am which is really Friday morning, and with his 3 hour time difference he's going to be sleepy.  I may bring my camera...maybe I can capture some northern lights on the way home if it's not raining.  =)  note to self....remember tri pod.

Rest Weekend~ Aug 25 and 26 2012

Hi everyone, so after our Mountain Adventure, and first 1/2 week back to school.... we needed to have a rest weekend.  Resting up for DH's visit Labor Day weekend, not sure what we are going to do....just spend time together.  May hit the Alaska State Fair...like the PNE  I'm thinking.  May get together with new friends here in town.... =)  Well it's 9:42am on Sunday and the kids are still in bed, I have been up for a couple of hours, doing some Crocheting...and watching a movie....The Grinch.....Christmas wont be long before it gets here.....http://www.xmasclock.com/  it says 120 days...oh my gosh..
Have to think a head this year.....with the mailing of things to Canada....will try and be the first Christmas card .... =) I got some Christmas lights up already, thinking about the cold weather that may come.....I remember the Moose Jaw days....the first winter only having indoor lights around the windows.....Oct 1st and the snow hit, I'm thinking it's not going to be as quick here but each year is different I'm sure.
Thinking about my plan a gram for my gardens next year....been to the neighbors, and got lots of tips on what grows. He had, carrots, beets, peas, cabbage, brussels sprouts, Raspberries, strawberries, currants, golden raspberries...a pink strawberry...they tasted yummy....he has apple trees, and blueberries...lets see oh ya lots of lettuce....radishes, I think he had beans...any ways I can start there....I'm more of a flower gardener, with berries...so we will see what happens next summer, oh ya and he also said he starts things outside in June...so much later then BC  .... well enough about gardening.

Sorry this is how my brain works...it's all over the place...it goes a mile a minute all the time...it's a good and bad thing... =)

DS had the neighbors nephew come over yesterday, and a couple other times, he's going home on Monday....I forget where he lives, his name is Ethan.

Aug 24 2012 ~ rest of the day

Got up get the kids ready for school, after the bus leave for DD, I head out for my first walk/run in a long time...went well I did about 5.73Km /3.56 miles.  Came home had a shower, DH's dad called so had a chat with them, DS got home just when I was hanging up so he talked as well.  Did a bit of Crocheting then walked down to get DD off the bus.  Our new friend Will asked me if we would like to go on a hike with them....note the time 4:00pm  So I said I would walk home and ask DS....and then let him know.  DS said sure, so we got ready had a snack, and headed out the door.  It's a 5 to 10 min drive to parking lot.  Will's friend Lisa, and a neighbor hood boy Mark, meet us at the parking lot.  oh ya and her dog cooper.  We start out, not to bad, taking in the views, Mark and DD are a bit slow so I stay with them...trying to get them moving faster.

We are almost to the top and the rain starts.... =(  it got cold...but hiked on to the top....got the pictures to prove it....

Well it was hell going down hill....thank god Will had walking sticks (ski poles) and he was nice enough to give Lisa and I one...my runners, suck the big one....it was like skating down the hill...I had many falls...and I'm going to pay for it tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Victoria!!

So a fill in on the happenings from yesterdays dussy of a day......Mike came and pumped out the holding tank, and Andy came out to check on the Alarm system for the septic, seems the pump may be going, and of course worked .... so will keep an eye on that, and phone Andy if needed.  I learned a bit more about the system.  So glad I had got things moved from the garage in the drain areas or it would have been a big nightmare....so hopefully wont have to deal with that again....=)

The kids seem to have a great day, DD had a problem with this sign.... * wondering what it was on the chalk board....in Math....not quite the sign, but you get the drift....any how found out it was times....she thought it was a bonus question and the teacher forgot to put if it was + or -  .....but seems to like it.   DS said do you know how Glee is Mom in the halls.....that's how it is at my new school....he was wondering why the halls where so big and now he found out... =) and both kids got home on the right bus...=)   DD actually had a play date after school with Ruth, Lucille and another friend Rachael in 4th Grade as well...they are in Spanish immersion at DD's school. So happy to meet friends close to our place.

So it's a rainy day, seems like a Crochet day, but will have a shower and then head to Eagle River (I call it town) for the last things the kids need for school, then meet at Jitters for "Coffee" I have hot chocolate or Tea with the Canadian Ladies at 1:00pm.  Have a great day all  =)

Just another Manic....Wednesday

So first day of school, we got up early enough to be early for DS's bus...it was right on time, wonder how his first day went....will find out 2:30pm ish...that's if he remembered to get the right bus.... =)
So after dropping DS off came home and got DD ready for school, it seems so long in between them.  DD had to be on the bus at 8:36am, while waiting for bus...we are always early....there was another girl that showed up going to DD's school, in 4th grade, Ruth is her name.... she has a her sister Lucille and her Dad's name is Will.  Her sister starts Kindergarten next week....so they both will take the bus with DD....=)

So I come back home, thinking I should go for a walk, it's suck a nice day......to water in the garage....coming up the drain.....Houston we have a problem, so I get on the horn.....
We may have a problem with the pump outside, the landlords maintenance guy came over and we eventually get the breaker to work, and the pump started.  So water went away..... =) for now....the Septic is on an Alarm, so the other guy Andy (or someone) will be out later today to check on things....it's a rare system, I'm not familiar with ..... and neither is the Property manager, so we are all learning as we go.....=)

Sitting here in the computer room nice a warm...sun is shinning through the window...I think Taz is mad that I moved the couch....now he can't sit in here in the window.

So the To Do List is in full swing.....
1.  I already installed a new furnace thermometer, love the Digital ones.... =) except may have to make it come on earlier...DS was complaining he was cold this morning....

2.  fixed front door, latch wasn't catching...so wouldn't close easy

3.  oh ya I put a new filter in the furance

things to still do:

1.  Put Christmas lights up

I'm sure the list will go on .....  it always does.... =) but that's okay I'm the Martha Stewart/Handy women type....that's one of the reasons DH married me.... =)

Well off to do something....love the sun.....oh ya did find Happy Lights....at Bed, Bath and Beyond...so if I need one later I can maybe find them...they are expensive though....$45 for small and $85 for big

Aug 21 2012 ~School starts tomorrow ~

So today Veronica and I went to the Coffee with the Canadian Ladies....there was 4 ladies...and Veronica, Talon and Dryden...(kids)  Haven't got everyone's name down...sorry....I'm so bad with names...Veronica and I had Hot Chocolate....it's pretty good there....at Jitters http://www.jitterseagleriver.com/

After DD and I went to Walmart to get some craft things and a bit more groceries....for school lunches....oh my it's going to start again.....I hate making lunches....sigh

So heading to bed pretty soon, 5:30am is going to come pretty quick, DS has to be at the bus stop for 6:45am, and DD at 8:36am..... the counsler at DS's school said they use the same buses, so they drop off the high school then come back for the Elem and Middle schools I guess.  It's the first time the kids have take the bus to school, hopefully they will like seeing where everyone lives.  And hopefully there's some more kids that live around here.

Been doing some Crocheting....making Headbands, and some cuff warmers they are called....working on some other stuff as well, got to keep busy when I'm not being Mom's taxi.

So today at DD's school they had Meet the teacher, and drop off your school supplies, so DD found out there's another DD in her class....the teacher is really surprised as well.......there's a Victoria as well, so lots of V's..... Her Teacher's name is Mrs. Christiansen she seems nice.

Not a Manic Monday, but it's a rainy one here..... =(  today I called for a box pick up, we will see if they show up....they said in a couple of hours....oh ya better go take a picture of the boxes before they leave...brb  Glad I left to take pictures when I did, the truck showed up not to long after I finished....so glad to get them out of the garage.

I just printed off some more patterns from on line...now to go and Crochet.....

Also have been doing my scrapbook of our trip last year on the Disney Wonder, with my parents and the Gardner's......I'm on day 2 only...okay maybe I'm starting day 3....it's a work in progress...to be continued... =)

It's a lazy day today, kids are still in their PJ's.....excited and scared for School on Wed...another new Adventure Begins....Grade 10 and Grade 5.

So back from Hockey, DS did pretty good, alot of water was drank...he was sucking it up....said his skates aren't sharp enough and his ankle hurt.....oh ya and his stick needs to be shorter....=)  He fit in pretty good with the kids, so we will see if he makes the Tier III team, an extra $160 by Oct 15th..... they had ten kids and two goalies.... I will take a couple pictures tomorrow, because I only had my iphone and the pictures aren't that great.....here's one:



We went to Taco Bell, it was okay...took along time for the cashier to come, but lots of workers....it was okay.....maybe I have to have some thing different the next time I go.

So we got back home and I was on the hunt for the crock pot....found it in a box of Christmas stuff....I guess I didn't look deep enough when I first looked in the box.....but I'm getting closer to getting my truck in the garage....have to call for a box pick up on Monday.....they only come back once so have to get as much as I can unpacked before calling......on the last move I gave boxes away to a couple that had just sold their house...but would like to get them picked up......I have the number on my calender, the unpack wrote it down for me.....Marks the guy to call and say I need a big truck to pick up...because last time they just had a truck with canopy and they filled it to the brim....

Well it's raining and seems dark maybe I can get the kids into bed at a decent hour....Good night all

Saturday Aug 18th

Last Saturday before school starts....crazy really.  So decided to just take DS to Hockey evaluations for the Tier III team.....I'm sure DD will be happy to play, and I will have enough running around with that much hockey.

So I'm mad can't find my crock pot/slow cooker.....looked every where for it....I guess I will have to take the kids to Taco Bell tonight after hockey, I was going to put Pork chops in the slow cooker, so we could have a nice cooked meal when we got home....but I guess it will have to be another night.

Newbie alert for my iphone.....starting to get used to it....I'm sure there's lots to learn....I like the spell check thing....wish it did that now, while I"m typing..... =) well some times it's a pain ...

Just going to make some lunch then head to the rink shortly....not to bad of a day today, lots of fog on the lake today and my truck had foggy windows....did I mention the heat was on as well, had to rub that in for all you people in the extreme heat....=)  If you do come to Alaska, bring clothes you can layer.....it's warm it's cool....it's all over the place....right now any ways.....I'm thinking about making one of these.....I got the picture from Pinterest:

TGIF ~ Aug 17 2012 ~

Well it's Friday....not that it matters right now any ways....today was another sleep in until 9am .... did I say I'm dreading next Wed the first day of school.  It's going to be tough that's for sure.
So today we did the rest of the kids school shopping, runners for both, then some pants for DD, they both have so many clothes, and alot of money has been going out....hockey, bike, insurance, etc...etc... seems it never ends.  Also picked up the last of the school supplies as well.

I just got back from my first lawn cut in the Lake house....way bigger then our last lawn....I had to fill the lawn mower 3 times.....at the old house I could cut it three times before filling it up....well not quite but it's big.  I have to get another gas can and different oil for the weed eater,  so that will have to wait...it so long to replenish all the stuff for this cutting..... sigh did I say I hate moving.....well there's some things I hate...that's all.... =)

So tomorrow is Hockey evaluation for the kids, Veronica first at 12pm then DS at 4pm, we will see how they do.

Aug 16 2012 ~ Rainy day in Alaska~

Hi everyone, well it's a rainy day in Alaska today, it will make my grass grow.....I did get a gas tank, and gas for my lawn mower but now have to get the oil....it never ends.  Then if I want to use the weedeater I need another gas tank and mixed gas for that... Did I say I hate moving!!

Today Christine is going to pick me up for Coffee/Tea with the girls, they meet every Tuesday and Thursday.  I'm feeling kind of bored, so need to get out and mingle with people ..... =)

I have been thinking about some Xmas Crafts....so that maybe in the future....we will see.  It was hard to get up at 9:00am today, I set my alarm clock for 7am, Taz needed out about 5:30am....well that's when I let him out.  Well I thought I heard a fight of some kind....and he comes home with....this sorry pictures are not nice....poor Tazzy boy... = (   I'm thinking he's not going to be going outside but who knows he likes the fight...so we will wait for him to recover....

So we got up early for a early practice/shinny hockey for DD, it was nice to see more then one other kid on the ice.  They had enough for two teams, and I think 2 spares each team.  DD meet another girl, she's 12 so will be up a level in hockey, but it was nice to see them sticking together playing with the boys.  So of the boys got a bit rough near the end of the game.

It's another not to bad day weather wise, we are getting to bed late, due to the sun going down at 10:30pm or so.  but really need to get back on track...school started next week....Aug 22nd.  it's going to be scary....getting up so early again.

Well I got the gas for the lawn mower....I hate moving...now I need the oil....sigh ...it never ends....so I guess the lawn will have to wait again....sorry neighbor....=(

Okay off to do something around here.....may make some cookies....hopefully I have everything for the recipe.  have a great day to you all !!  

Aug 14th ~

So it's Tuesday Aug 14th, not doing to much today, started out not that great of a day, but it's sunny now.  Just finished pressure washing the back deck, going to paint it soon, just have to ask again for more paint.  Tonight is hockey registration it's from 6-8pm going to get a bit of groceries after.  We are out of Milk  so that means no Tea......I had a hot choc this am....and had a cry fest watching the movie "My Sister's Keeper"



the kids just watched it... DD say it was pretty good I would watch it again.

Sunday already ~ Aug 12 2012

We have been busy, Thursday had to get some pictures taken for my working visa, I then got a haircut and did some things around town.  We got a Canadian Welcome Package in the mail from the Gardners ... thank you so much....

After 3:30pm we picked up DS's new bike in Wasilla......it was a beautiful day, we stopped here in Chugiak at a farmers market and tried Fireweed honey, DS loved it.  When we got home we went for a bike ride, DS enjoyed riding on his BMW I call it while DD and I had the regular old bikes, and riding on roots in trail wasn't fun at all...so we took the road back and was much better.  Did a bit more unpacking...it's a job that never ends.

Friday not sure what we did, went down the road to look at a garage sale, just hung out did some stuff in town, cleaned up some more, DS rode his bike.
Saturday Aug 11th was the welcoming party at the base.....it started at 3pm, the kids didn't get up until almost 12 noon....it's going to be hard getting the bus at 6:45am on Aug 22 for DS and 8:30am for DD.

Around 2pm we picked up Christine, and headed to the base, it was a beautiful day for a party, I think it was the warmest day so far.  Enjoyed a BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings.  It was nice getting to meet everyone, trying to remember names...which is really hard for me....but I think I remembered a few...=)   The kids seem to fit right in ...there was no fights but one little boy got his finger stepped on...=(

We got home around 7pm ish....DD was sweating so she decided to go for a swim in the lake.  It's really shallow for about half the lake, so she was glad I blow up the air mattress, and got her life jacket....I told her I wasn't jumping in to get her.   DD did have a freak out when she tried to step down...and kept sinking....it's not a great swimming lake but my little fish didn't care.  DS ended up going in a well, they had a bike recuse mission, an old little bike had some how, one day made it's way into the lake.   All in all a great day in Alaska... =)

We have been talking to DH, he's 3 hours ahead in Oklahoma City, but he's having a great time, loving being back in the Radar world, and working on a plane, is his life long dream.  There are 4 people on his course, two younger girls and a guy DH's age.  So things are going not to bad for him, he's doing well on his tests, got 100% the other day.

I was watching Man v Food the other day and they had a place in Oklahoma City, called Steak and Catfish   so I told Carlisle would have to go and eat there...so he's planning one day to head there for dinner.

Today if the kids get up we are planning to go to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center 
but it's 10:15am and they are not getting up, I tried to wake them up already....so it maybe a late day trip.... =)

Good Morning everyone, thanks for stopping by.  Today is the day we go register the kids for school, we have an appointment to 9:00am for DS school and will head to DD's after that.

Earlier in the day, the kids went for a boat ride, did some fishing....that was fun.....they didn't caught anything .... they need a bit more practice .... =)

Last night DD and I went for a walk with Christine and Mike, they live in Chugiak as well, just a maze of roads over, thank god for our GPS.

So we got our mail finally yesterday, you know the bills.....
Have to go and wake the kids up again so that we aren't late....have a great day

Aug 6th ~ Monday a new week.....

Today we headed to the base for the kids immunization needle before school registration, they reviewed the kids records, and DD needed one, and DS need two.......the kids did pretty good, DS of course got Noodle arm....that's what he calls it.  We stopped to drop off a receipt with Elsa....then made a loop of the Airbase, DH was so busy before leaving we didn't get time to show the kids.  Checked out the Canex....well they call it the Commissary to see if they had life jackets, and paddles for the boat, they didn't so we bought to fishing rods for the kids to fish on the lake.  Thought the package had hooks, bobbers all we needed, but it didn't so have to unpack some more boxes.
Stopped at Walmart to pick up the rest of our things.  Come back to the house, talked to DH he had his first day of his course.  He said there's only 3 others in his class so maybe he will get the course done quick....we will see....=)
We had dinner then DD and I went for a boat ride....=) very nice to check out the lake.  Off to watch a movie, have a great night....warmer today.... maybe summer isn't over...=)

Aug 5th cont.....

So after getting DD up, and gettingDS off the PS3 we head out for our walk for me and bike ride for the kids.  As we are getting ready, I see the neighbor coming our way with a gift, very nice basket with Wine, Banana Bread, and a some local spices.....so nice to meet Kathleen and Jerry....and thank you so much   ps the banana bread is half gone =)

Then we head out, I didn't ride my bike because I wanted to take pictures along the way, DD got stung by a bee...=( she did pretty good, but had a few little hissy fits along the way.  I took alot of pictures, of our great Alaska out doors.  Can't believe how any mushroom types we saw today.  Mirror Lake park was packed, I guess it being a sunny Sunday.  Saw one boy with his fishing pole, and I asked if he caught anything and he said no, "all the trout are gone"he said....
I see them jumping from my house, so they must have been hiding.

We walked back home, and started looking for a bucket to wash the truck and car....found one and DD and I washed them.  Came in called Mom and Dad, then made dinner, watched a movie with the kids, then I just finished watching the sunset....it was beautiful....=) 10:30pm we are in a different time zone now...not sure how to fix that???

Aug 5th ~ Happy Sunday everyone!!

Today I woke up at 8:00am, checked my new iphone, and my sister had called, and DH left a text saying he was in Oklahoma City.  So called my sister back, chatted awhile, then sent DH a text and then we tried to do Facetime on our phones, but it didn't work...... =( so I called him.  He said he didn't get much sleep, and couldn't go then at 11:00am, but is going to try and stay up, get his uniform all ready then do some exploring around, and then get to bed early for his first day on course.
The kids and I are going to wash the truck, and unpack some more....things are coming together....it's looking like our home.  Taz is starting to feel more comfortable in the chair, doesn't really want to go outside, goes out for a bit then wants back in.  No other cats to fight with I guess.....wont be long and he will be an indoor cat anyways.
Well I had better get DD up, she's still sleeping.  Enjoy your Sunday, it's over cast and cool here...

Aug 4th - Raining today....wish it was sunny

So today we got my computer all hooked up....yippy  So nice to be back online with my big computer.....been using DH's lap top but it's not the same.....
We did some running around today, getting thing finished up before DH left for Oklahoma City, I got a call the other day to say my new iphone 4S was in....so we picked it up today....still getting used to it...way different then my flip phone I had. Send me a note if you want my new number....remember I'm in the USA now and may cost more to text/call me.....not sure how plans work.
So DS has been having a melt down about hockey gear....we took him to a few stores and they didn't have anything...but today....he found he's Hockey store....

it's amazing how much taxes we pay in Canada....so nice to not have any.....seem like a way better deal here.  Today DS had a good day, he needed new skates, pants, shin pads, helmet and a stick.  DD needed hockey pants, but got her brother's.  Had a late lunch....then we had to stop back at the phone store because my phone didn't get set up right.....so did that, stopped at Fred Meyer on the way home.  Then pretty much DH finished packing and then loaded the truck, drove to the Airport, dropped DH off....miss you....xoxoxoxo
Came home, DS the navigator almost made me go down the wrong side of the exit....saw the straight arrow so did a double take....he needs more practice I guess....came home did a bit more of unpacking, the kids road their bikes for a bit.  Well that's our day in a nut shell, bye for now

Aug 3rd....moving in and some what un packed...=)

So yesterday all our many boxes arrived at our new place in Alaska...happy happy dance.  It's been a long week, and TGIF....Happy and Sad all in one....DH is leaving for hot hot Oklahoma City for his training/course.  He will be home for Labour day and for Christmas, so time will fly by I'm sure.  I think we have got very thing done before he leaves, we got our new license plates, and insurance today...it looks like this one....but it's not our plate......

Everyone seems to be settling in nicely, love being by the lake....may get spoiled up here, and not want to leave....we will see when winter comes....

I liked Dragonflies, before and now I'm surrounded by them.....they eat mosquitoes...been trying to get pictures of them and it's very difficult. 

Can't wait to just relax and unpack at my own pace now.....but have to say this kitchen is small like our house in Maple Ridge and it sucks...I have two tables filled with stuff to find a home for.....so we will have a lot on shelves in the garage.

Well I had better spend some time with the family and make dinner.....have a great rest of the day..

Aug 1st a new day a new month.....=)

Up early, DH is off to work and the kids are both sleeping, have to get them up soon, because breakfast is over at 9 or maybe 9:30am.  DH's car gets dropped off at the house today at 2pm, it will be nice to have 2 cars again.  We are so happy our stuff is arriving tomorrow, so we can get a bit settled in before DH heads out on Saturday.  Still lots to do, before then......can't wait until the whirlwind is over.....it's all good, getting it over with.
Well I better have a shower and then get the kids up, have a great Aug 1st everyone.....  =)
