Well Summer in Alaska seems to be over, with what seems like forever......RAIN has arrived, and I'm not happy with it....we have grass mold and mushrooms growing every where and School has started for my daughter, Grade 9 and is in High School. Go Mustangs Go!!!
I can't believe has fast the summer has gone by, we got an extension on my husbands posting so are here until the summer of 2017. No crunch time to fit all the things we want to do and see before next year. I will be making a list and checking it twice....lol Speaking of that Christmas is just around the corner.....Wanted to add that because I need to get thinking on what to get everyone and if I need to make things I need to start as soon as possible. I will not be making hats, I have so many already made.
I got for Christmas last year my Silhouette Cameo and love it....I can make stickers, decals, t shirts, wood signs and anything really. I have changed my RM Hats page on Facebook to Loveland Designs because I have been making alot more then crocheted hats.....=) here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/LovelandDesigns hope it works....=)
Boy we have been doing alot since I last posted, can't believe the light is disappearing, but that means it's time to watch for Northern Lights....and with DD on the early to school schedule, I might just have to stay up.....some night.... I'm hoping for alot of light shows as this will be our last year/winter in Alaska.
So the rest of June we did some Paint balling, hiking and said some goodbyes to friends getting posted. July 1st we celebrated Canada Day with our Canadian Families in Alaska with are BBQ party, what else......Happy Canada Day!! we got to meet a couple of new people that had arrived to Alaska for their posting. We love it here, just wish it was a bit closer to family. May, June and July we had amazing weather, with some really warm days for here, with the rest of the country on fire from heat and dry conditions. Most of July we did some hikes, picked wild blueberries and made muffins....here's some pictures:
July 30th I think was the Airshow, it happens every two years in Alaska, Mother Nature held off the rain for the weekend, so that made for a nice time. Our friends from Canada came for a visit, so we went to the show.
Then on the Monday we took a train to South Denali, we stopped in Talkeetna then took a bus to our hotel. here's some pictures of the trip:
