Welcome back, thanks for checking on our busy life......=)

So what a week it's been, DH is still in Canada for work.
~Monday was no school and DD went with the Canadian kids group to the Museum of Science and Nature.  Monday night I broke my tooth flossing.
~Tuesday I had to take the car in for an oil change, so worked out first then my friend and I went to town. After I stopped into the dentist to see if they could check my tooth, they had a cancellation, so I got in at 2pm. Discovered I had already had a root canal done on my tooth, and that's why it wasn't hurting.  So got a build up done, and was to come back Thursday to get a crown.
~Wednesday DS had early morning Hockey practice...starting at 5:45am. 
I made two of these breads below to bring to a lunch with the ladies that live around the lake:

Recipe of the Day!! Apple Cinnamon Bread!

1/3 cup brown sugar (not packed)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 apple, peeled and chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and set aside. Beat white sugar and butter together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until incorporated; add vanilla extract.

Combine flour and baking powder together in another bowl; stir into creamed butter mixture. Mix milk into batter until smooth. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Next add half the apples and half the brown sugar cinnamon mixture. Lightly pat apple mixture into batter.

Pour the remaining batter over apple layer; top with remaining apples and add more brown sugar/cinnamon mixture. Lightly pat apples into batter; swirl brown sugar mixture through apples using a finger or spoon.

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, 30 to 40 minutes.

The weather still continues to be in the 40's F, which is nice but it's making a icy mess of everything.  Not sure I trust going on the lake as well. The weatherman says that this weather is going to continue into next week with the sun coming out.  CRAZY!! we are even breaking more records for rain fall and warm temps.

Thursday I got up with kids then got them off to school, and then headed for the dentist, I was early but they started early.it was so neat how they made my crown right there at the office....so cool !!

It's Tuesday here but today felt like Monday....just another Manic Monday.

So last night before heading to be I'm flossing my teeth, like a good girl, and one of my tooth gets a whole and a piece falls off my tooth.  Doesn't hurt so I just went to bed, it was late already.

So today I went to my friends for a work out, she has a whole gym at here house.  I love the treadmill but some times she makes me work out the rest of my body with weights.  Lots of fun to have a work out buddy.  Keeps me going and I need that.

Today it was oil change day for the Subaru, with synthetic oil...it comes in at a hefty bill....=(  Then they point out a few things of course not covered under warranty. Boy they sure know how to wreck my day. 

My friend and I ended up going to our local Bargain Shop on Base, and we got some great deals...then getting into the car I hit my head on the car door.....that hurt a lot.  My friend got some snow in a Lowe's bag....people must of thought what's this lady doing with a plastic on her head. But it worked really great.

After dropping her off at home I headed to the Dentist office to see if they could check out my tooth. Well that's the crazy day I had, there's never a dull moment with me around.  Also wanted to say it was 44F today here in Alaska.....crazy weather....have a great night, I'm heading to bed early....DS has hockey practice early tomorrow.

Busy weekend ~ Jan 20 2014

Welcome back to my Blog, we have had a busy weekend, starting off with DD's Friday early morning breakfast for 4.0 GPA,

DS had a hockey game Thursday and Friday this week.  Then had hockey buddies come over Friday night to stay over, then went skating on the lake Saturday.  3 boys stayed over, and with DD on the ice they had a great game, even with the rain and warm weather making the lake ice a mushy mess along the edges.

Sunday we went Rock Climbing with the Canadian's teen groups.  It was so much fun....=) we will for sure do it again.

Then today Martin Luther King, Jr. Day we went with the Canadian's again for a fun trip to Alaska Museum of Science and Nature, it was lots of fun...I think the kids and adults had a great time...=)

So we are having a Pineapple Express right now and it's just killing the lake rink....
It's raining now and has been the last few days....=(  I moved to Alaska for Winter not RAIN...I hate the rain and here it makes ICE and I really don't like ICE on the roads and sidewalks...etc...in the hockey rink it's great.

DH is still in Winterpeg (Winnipeg) and it's way colder for him there.  He will be back before we know it.  Time is flying by like this January and life in general.

Jan 16 2013 ~ still waiting for the forecast of RAIN

Good evening to you,

Well the Pineapple Express is arriving, we have fog tonight.  Yesterday the weatherman said we would have rain, and it snowed 1 inches.  Then today he said more rain, and we got 2 inches more snow.  Both days I had to get the snow up of our long driveway and the Lake rink (ice)  didn't want to leave it with rain in the up coming future.

We had a face time visit with DH in Canada last night, it's hard to get together with the kids both in school and after school activities, not to mention the 3 hour difference. He's enjoying his time in Winterpeg (Cold Winnipeg) and meeting up with his work buddies. 

Yesterday I ended up making three of the Aviator Hats, they are so cute.  Now what kind of hat will I make, need to find something interesting on Pinterest or the internet.

Jan 15 2014 ~ Really mid Jan already....crazy...

Hello there, thanks for stopping by.

Jan 15th already just can't believe it, well it's above 0c today, snowing and is going to turn to rain the weatherman says.  It's going to be a mess. The news said to watch in the morning, with icy roads in the forecast school could be cancelled.

DS has hockey tomorrow night and Friday, with DD having the Play rehearsals.  Hubby is back in Canada for work.  I'm sure having fun with Tim Horton's coffee and colored money, and Toonies and Loonies.  We saved a lot more change in Canada.

Been looking for Northern Lights, we have had some much cloud the last month or so that we aren't getting sitings.  Which makes me so upset.  I haven't been going to bed early so it would be nice to be watching the lights do their dancing in the skies over head.

I have been crocheting and have picked up knitting which is interesting, would love to have a knitter to show me things, but the internet does a great job helping when I need it.

Happy New Year to all my readers.....Can't believe it's that 2014 all ready.

it's warm today -2C, some friends are coming over for a skate, and a pot luck type dinner, it's going to be a fun time.

Just looked at our weather they are calling for snow, with cloudy skies....so not happy about that because on the Aurora site they are calling for KP4 tonight which is really good.  grrr

Well just wanted to say Hi we are loving Alaska still....=) take care and all the best for 2014
