Nov 28 2014 ~ American Thanksgiving long weekend

Hello there....is there anyone out there!!

I can't believe it's Nov 28th already.  I guess November has been busy.  Let see what has happened, I think I have to get the calendar for this info....brb

Oct 31, was Halloween, our kids didn't go out trick or treating this year.  And we didn't have any trick or treater's come to our door. DS had some friends over, we had a fire and the boys walked on the lake for the first time this season.  I made sure to watch and told them to only stay close to the edge of the lake incase we had to make a rescue. 
Nov 1st we went to our friends house for a Halloween Party, we dressed up at Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World.

It was alot of fun, we stayed out way into the night....=)

Nov 2nd-kids skating on the ice.

Nov 4th woke up to an amazing show of the Northern Lights....5:30am

Nov 4th - Had a hike up Baldy with my hiking girls, still not much snow...DH had the flu and was quarantined to the house for 72hours....then I got it the next day....=(   it took a long time to get rid of the Flu bug.....and alot of people had it.  One school here had 100 or so kids out ...if your kid has a fever don't send them they said.....=( not good. DH got the flu shot and it didn't help him.

DD went to Madame Butterfly with her Music class, they go to so many plays it's a great time.

DS had his 17th Birthday, and had to play hockey with his High School team.  He scored a goal, and they won 3-2.  Then on the Saturday they had another game, we all went to watch, it was a great game, they lost in overtime 7-6.  We went to dinner after to celebrate his birthday. 

Nov 11 we celebrate Remembrance Day and Veterans Day here in Alaska

Nov 11th, DS had another Hockey game, they take the bus to and from the games, so we didn't go to the game. But I got a phone call to pick DS up at the game, they think he broke his collarbone. So went and picked him up went to the base ER....and he did break his collarbone.

He getting better every day, but it's amazing at how much you can't do with one arm.

Oct 29 2014 ~ Good Morning Readers

So with Halloween on it's way, and the end of Oct apon us, I have to say I love the look of Ice Crystals, in the sunlight or in the light of my car in the morning....it sparkles and is so beautiful....=)

It's been another busy week and it's only Tuesday....With getting the kids to school, car pooling it's my week and then making sure my DS's hockey gear is at school for 2:30pm Time flies by.

Yesterday I went on a hike with my Hiking buddies, we did Southforks, it's been awhile so it was nice to do a somewhat easier hike, my legs are a bit sleepy today, but nothing Tylenol or stretching can't fix.

Still searching for Halloween costumes for DH and I, we are going to a Halloween Party on Saturday night......was looking up Couples costumes on Pinterest.....but still havent' decided.....and time is a ticking......=)

Oct 26 2014 ~ Happy Sunny Sunday!!

So we had a first snow the other day, not much about a 1/2 inch.

The lake is still not frozen over, so this snow will wreck the nice smooth ice we could have once it freezes.

On Friday DS got his learners permit, so we have been practicing driving. He's getting better every time we go out.  So glad we have a back road so that we don't need to go on the Highway at 65 Miles per hour....it's scary at 45mph...=)

Hard to believe it's the 26th and Halloween is this Friday, looking forward to the Halloween party we have Saturday night.  Not sure what we are going as of yet.

The boys got our snow tires on the our vehicles, so that was just in time....for SNOW!!

I have been busy Crocheting, got the bug back, I seem to go in waves, I'm trying to get some of my yarn gone.  There are so many ideas I have thanks to Pinterest.....=)

So here's up into Oct 19 2014, been busy, but always taking pictures.....=)

Oct we had a Mixed Mess Dinner, DH was away but I went, and we surprized at how much fun it was...=) Dressing up wasn't my favorite part....but got a great deal on my dress $14.98 at Burlington

Then next was the Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner here with our Canadian Families posted here in Alaska....we had 108 people.  It was a very nice time with great company and of course FOOD.

I have been taking pictures of Northern Light have been up to the early hours the past few nights, and may head out tonight.  It becomes addicting, try to find the best show.

Sept 2014

Is it really Oct 19 2014, time flies when your having fun I guess.  Or maybe it's because I'm getting older.....=)  I remember my Nan always saying time flies by the older you get.

So it's a beautiful day in Alaska, the lake is starting to freeze with a thin layer of ice around the edges, starting at the other end of the lake.  Our end must have warmer water because the ice always starts at the other end......maybe it's deeper so is colder....not sure really....=)

Sept went like a flash, was busy with work for DH and School for the kids, I was busy hiking with my side kicks, and we hit up a few new bargain shops.... looking for deals.

Aug 7 2014 ~ Searching for Summer still~ and it's just about over

So DH and I went fishing with our Friends and some of their family visiting from Canada. We had a great time with stopping at my favorite place Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and Beluga Point.

We found the Military Resort in Seward, and they had room for us and our friends along with their trailer.  Way way better then in the over flow parking lot.

Sunday we woke up at Oh Dark thirty.....5:00am to be at the dock for 6:00 ish, we woke up to a rainy day with 90% chance of rain all day.....=(  we had talked to our captain and he advised us to get rain gear....which we did....at the Fish House....they got alot of money from us this weekend.

So we meet up with our captain,  his daughter and her fiance.  It was raining on and off on our way out to our first fishing area.  The sea was a rolling, which didn't go over that great for the girls side of the boat, a 26 ft boat with two 115hp motors....this is a girls prospective of the boat...I will post a picture so you can figure it out....=)

So we had, I will say Mom of friend, F Friend and I on one side and the Capt's Daughter at the back, to help us with our fish then the guys side of the boat, Brother of friend, DH and M friend.....(names with held because I'm trying not to add names to this blog....but it's really hard some times....and maybe I should just add them to make it easier)  Any how.  oh ya and Fiance at the front of the boat.

So F friend got sick and i did as well....the boat was rolling in the sea waves, we had fish on like you wouldn't believe...lots of fun.  I'm not going to get into it, but everyone on the boat got sick, except for the Captain and Daughter, and the Brother made it 95% of the trip before he started.  It wasn't an all day sickness, but F friend did alot of sleeping.  Waves were 8ft at some parts, and wind was blowing, rain held off  for the most part and it was a really fun day. Total catch was 18 salmon, 3 rock fish, 1 cod and 1 little halibut. 

After we arrived back at the harbor, our fishing crew, hung our fish so we could get pictures with it, then cleaned and fileted our fish for us....New to Fishing people.  I can say I'm not a boater, but felt better knowing the fiance got sick and was down for some of the fishing trip.  

We got back to the resort and they had a sweet set up....we bought bags and they had a sealer for people staying there to use....it was great.  Also they have a big freezer you can put your fish into and pick up before you head home....=)

We may need to go on a Halibut fishing trip in Homer.....but I might not make that trip, my DH and DS may have to go for that one.....=)  but we will see...=)

So we had a great weekend...thanks again for the invite....freezer is getting full with fish.... =)

We got the kids register for school and DS got his schedule and id card the other day, waiting for Aug 15th to find out DD's schedule.  Then they start back to school on the 20th..... DS is a Senior and DD is in Grade 7...boy does time fly.

Well we were going to go camping with friends this weekend but with rain in the forecast and us in a tent...we are going to pass.  Blueberry festive is happening....but that's okay...=)

I have been crocheting again with the rainy days we have been having....well maybe not rainy but not summer either.
