Looking forward to getting back into the school routine....DD will be off to Grade 8....and DS will be looking for a job. Seems weird to only have one going back to school. DS is still working on getting his Driver's .... He needs more practice, but he thinks he's ready to go....
We have had a great summer with two sets of Visitors.....getting a trip in before our final full summer here in Alaska. DH has put in for an extension and will find out if that will happen in the next few months. We are hoping to stay but understand if our time is done. Not sure where our next posting will be, but I"m sure we will miss our time here in the Great White North....=)
Last week I went for a hike to the South Fork Lakes, with some newly posted here and friends posted from Canada....it's a long hike on the feet....I had a blister and sore toes....just needed a hot bath and some rest.....I crocheted....=)
I have been crocheting.....getting ready for the winter season....making Minion Hats, Owl hats and other things.
Today on the menu is Pulled Pork...trying a new recipe, we will see how it goes.

When our friends visited this summer they made us pulled pork and it was great, thought I would try a different recipe.
Also today I made Cheese bread...DH's request....got the recipe from a friend who found it on Pinterest.....yummy.
the only thing I do different is make two on my cookie sheets....mine are a bit smaller then the one in the recipe.....the first time I made it the dough was to thick...this is way better.....I would post a picture but it all gone.....lol
